I grew up near Rotterdam, and I am still here. After university I sent out hundreds of job applications. Almost none came back. The few that did led nowhere. I had a degree in applied psychology and a stack of bills, and the only door that opened was a call center. So I took it. Every day was the same script, the same chair, nothing that felt like mine.

The desk job did something I did not see coming. I put on around 20 kilos. I stopped recognizing myself in photos. I felt insecure about my looks, and worse, about what I was actually capable of. The weight was the visible part. The real damage was quieter. I had stopped believing in myself.

I started jumping rope to get out of my own head.

Just me, the rope, and my music. No noise, no inbox, no script. For the first time in a long while I was fully in something, and when I stepped off I felt lighter. Not just in my body. In how I saw myself.

The weight came off. But that was never the real change. The rope rebuilt how I thought. I started showing up for myself in one small thing, and that spread. If I could keep this promise, I could keep others. The insecurity that had been running the show got quieter every time I followed through.

Elevate Rope came out of that. I built it here in the Netherlands to hand other people the same thing the rope handed me: a way to get in shape, clear their mind, and prove to themselves that they can do far more than they think, whatever they are carrying right now.

That is the whole idea. Pick up the rope. Become someone who follows through. Everything else builds from there.
