However, there’s a reason some people out there are really good at jumping rope but lack the physique you so badly want.

1. Reduce Calorie Intake

First and foremost. Before any of the other tips, when you’re serious about losing weight and reducing body fat while jumping rope the MOST important thing you should do reduce is your calorie intake.

If you want to get your body to burn your the fat of your muscles you need to give it a reason to.

When you take in too many calories your body will simply burn of those calories, leaving your body. As it is.

So if you truly want to see a big difference, make sure to start in the kitchen FIRST.

2. Fast Before Your Workout

Another good way to lose body fat fast when jumping is to fast before your workout.

Exercising Fasted increases your body’s ability to use fat for fuel.

This makes sense because most of the pre-exercise meals include carbs, which the body uses for energy during exercise.

If these carbs are missing, your body will automatically use your body fat to fuel those muscles which is EXACTLY what we want.

3. Implement HIIT Training

Another proven fact is implementing HIIT routines into your jump rope sessions.

For the ones who don’t really know what HIIT means, HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

4. Use Heavy Ropes

Using a heavy or weighted handle rope can help you speed up your fat burns even more!

While a speed rope focuses on speed and quickness and is better for developing coordination and conditioning by increasing the speed of the rope, weighted jump ropes, on the other hand, burn a significant amount of calories and can be effective for increasing strength and promoting weight loss.

So if you’re working on toning down that body fat, consider implementing a heavy rope into your work out routine.

What I like to do is start off with 10 min of heavy rope jumps and after that switch over to my beloved speed rope for the rest of my workout.

5. Go All in (Jump Rope For Losing Weight)

When jumping rope for fat loss you’ll want to do exercises you master completely. This will keep your heart rate up and the burns going.

It’s fun to practice new tricks from time to time, but always make sure to add in some exercises on which you can go ALL in to really get your body exhausted.

Dividing your workout into different parts in where you practice different ways of jumping is a good way to keep your workouts exciting and engaging.

For example what I like to do when working out is jump for about 30 minutes.

– 10 of these 30 minutes I use the heavy rope for fat loss.

– The other 10 minutes I use for HIIT variations where I go ALL IN.

– And the remaining 10 I use for practicing newer tricks that I don’t completely master just yet.

This way I keep my body lean, my workouts fun and my arsenal keeps on growing while at it.

6. Consistency 

Now obviously you can’t go to the gym and expect to come back and have a sixpack (I wish it were true though)!

This is why, staying consistent is probably the most important of all these points.

Without consistency, you can say goodbye to those abs. That’s why I encourage you to get jumping at least 4 times a week for 30 minutes straight if you want to see significant results.

If you manage to do that AND implement the points I mentioned above you’ll be lean FASTER than you know it.
